Project Overview
The homeowners wanted a place to gather outside after dark — somewhere that felt like an extension of the living room rather than a separate patio dropped into the lawn.
- Location
- Fuquay-Varina, NC
- Project type
- Backyard Transformation
The Challenge
The yard sloped toward the house and held water after storms. Any new hard surface had to fix the drainage, not add to it, and the space needed to feel enclosed without blocking the view.
Our Solution
We regraded the yard and built the patio with a planned pitch to a new outlet, then framed the space with seat walls at a comfortable height. Cap lights and a fire table give it a warm glow at night, and new planting softens the edges.
Materials
- Concrete pavers
- Segmental seat wall block
- Natural stone caps
- Low-voltage LED cap lights
Construction
Base preparation, drainage, and structure — the parts you won't see later, but the reason it lasts.
